MACC - UX Audit
This project was a deep-dive UX Audit conducted as a specialized component of the "Voices of Mahomet" initiative for the Mahomet Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC). As the Web Experience Lead, I spearheaded a comprehensive evaluation of MACC’s digital touchpoints to identify usability barriers and strategic gaps. The goal was to provide a data-driven foundation for a phased digital roadmap that would better serve local businesses, residents, and visitors while supporting Mahomet’s rapid community growth.

PROBLEM
The MACC digital presence was hindered by platform fragmentation, with three distinct websites operating independently for the main chamber, the festival, and the "Voices" initiative. This lack of integration caused a disjointed user experience, as visitors were forced to jump between disparate URLs to find relevant community and business information. From a management perspective, this created unnecessary operational overhead, making it nearly impossible for the Chamber to maintain a consistent brand voice or provide a unified digital hub for the town.
SOLUTION
We developed a strategic consolidation plan to merge these separate entities into a unified ecosystem. Key features of this integration included:
Consolidated Sitemap: Designed a new, centralized information architecture that brought the "Festival" and "Voices" sections under the primary mahometchamber.org umbrella.
Unified Brand Guidelines: Established a single visual and verbal identity system to ensure that every sub-page felt like a cohesive part of the MACC brand.
Persistent Navigation: Implemented a global navigation bar that allows users to move seamlessly between member services and community storytelling without leaving the main ecosystem.
VALUE DELIVERED
Platform Synergy: Successfully transformed a fragmented web presence into a cohesive community hub, increasing the visibility of both the festival and the storytelling projects.
Operational Efficiency: Reduced technical debt and administrative workload by moving toward a single-platform management model.
Improved Trust and Reliability: Restored user confidence by providing a consistent and professional digital experience that reflects the Chamber's role as a town leader.
APPROACH
Our approach involved comprehensive research, prototyping, and iterative testing to ensure the effectiveness and reliability of StringleEye. We conducted user interviews and usability tests to gather feedback and refine the product iteratively. Collaboration with domain experts and musicians throughout the development process ensured that StringleEye met the specific needs and expectations of its target audience.

SUMMARY
The MACC UX Audit specifically solved the challenge of digital fragmentation by providing a blueprint for site consolidation. By merging three independent websites into a single, high-performance ecosystem, we ensured that the "Voices of Mahomet" and the "Chamber Festival" were not just isolated projects, but integrated parts of a unified community identity. This transition was essential for scaling MACC’s digital presence and creating a future-ready platform that can grow alongside the town of Mahomet.
